Off-site levies are charges that developers pay to help with the cost of off-site infrastructure needed for their projects. Off-site infrastructure can include things like new or expanded water and wastewater treatment facilities, utility pipes, recreation centres, roads, libraries, fire halls and police stations.

Authority for the County to charge off-site levies is given in Section 648 of the Municipal Government Act.

The rules for the creation of a new off-site levy bylaw can be found in the Off-site Levies Regulation.

The Transportation Levy Bylaw is currently the only off-site levy bylaw adopted by the County.
