When is a Plumbing Permit required? |

A Plumbing Permit is needed to install, alter, or add to a plumbing system and needs to be applied for prior to the work commencing. Applications can be made online using the County's Gateway Portal or visit the Administration Building. |

Do I need to re-plumb an older home to meet today's standards? |

When doing renovations, you are only required to bring affected systems up to today's standards, though we recommend bringing all systems up to date. |

Do I need a permit to change my fixtures, tubs, dishwasher, sinks, taps, etc.? |

No, general maintenance or replacement of fixtures does not require permits, unless you are altering your drainage system. |

How long are Plumbing Permits valid? |
|
Permits expire if work is not commenced within 90 days of issuance or if the project is suspended for more than 120 days. However, all work should be completed within the life of the associated Development and Building Permits. |

Who should apply for the permit? |
|
A landowner who personally resides on the parcel of land where the work is to occur, or a licensed journeyman plumber must apply for a Plumbing Permit. |
