Library Board
Purpose
The County of Grande Prairie Library Board manages library service in the County. To do so, the Board runs four community libraries:
- Elmworth Community Library
- Hythe Municipal Library
- La Glace Community Library
- Valhalla Community Library
The Board also provides funding to four other libraries that serve County residents:
- Beaverlodge Public Library
- Grande Prairie Public Library
- Sexsmith Shannon Municipal Library
- Wembley Public Library
Membership
Board members are appointed by County Council. Anyone who lives in the County can apply to sit on the Library Board for a three year term. View the current members of Council's Boards and Committees or contact Library Director by email for information about applying.
Meetings
The Library Board meets four to six times per year and meetings are open to the public. If you wish to attend a Board meeting, please contact Library Services Team Lead by email.
Plan of Service
Every three to five years, the Library Board creates a Plan of Service based on community needs.
