Trail Etiquette

Help create a fun and safe experience for all trail users. Do not take motorized vehicles on the trails. Motorized mobility aides and e-bikes that travel less than 30 km/hr are welcome on the trails.

  • Keep pets on-leash and clean up after them.
  • Use the right side of the trail (treat like a road system)
  • Yield to faster moving users.
  • Be visible to others – bright reflective clothing and bicycle reflectors.
  • Give audible signals when overtaking another user.

Trail Maintenance

Enjoy the trails year-round! When responding to significant snowfall, asphalt trails are assigned a priority rating.

  • Priority 1: Essential pedestrian access. Cleared within 24 hours.
  • Priority 2: Pedestrian access + recreation. Cleared within 48 hours.
  • Priority 3: Primarily recreation. Cleared within 72 hours.

During the recent freeze and thaw cycles, trails users are reminded to use caution as the trails are extremely icy even with regular maintenance. Personal traction devices are highly recommended when using the trails.

* For safety reasons trail maintenance will not occur when temperatures are below -35 Centigrade or colder. In extreme cold, there is an increased risk of injury to staff and damage to equipment.
